Premier League football transfers expected in 2024

Mo Salah – Liverpool

Liverpool’s legendary forward Mohamed Salah is set to follow Jurgen Klopp out of the club as the Saudi Pro League land their number one target with a huge deal. The most likely destination for Salah is PIF-backed Al-Ittihad, who have made some of the biggest signings within the Pro-League in the last 12 months, including Karim Benzema.

Liverpool supremo Michael Edwards is ready to sanction Salah’s exit, if as expected, the former Chelsea player makes it clear he is ready to make the move to the Middle East, where – as HITC revealed – he is set to become the highest-paid player in the world.

Ivan Toney – Brentford

Brentford are expecting Ivan Toney to leave this summer – but they will be demanding market value. It is believed that the Bees would want around £50million for Toney. Manchester United, Arsenal, Chelsea and Tottenham Hotspur have also looked at Toney ahead of the summer transfer window.

Aaron Ramsdale – Arsenal

The England goalkeeper needs to move and he will – a number of Premier League clubs want him. HITC understands rivals Chelsea are considering signing Aaron Ramsdale from Arsenal as a potential replacement for Robert Sanchez.

Mason Greenwood – Manchester United

Greenwood has spent the season on-loan at Getafe and he could join them. No matter where he ends up, he is set to leave Manchester United. HITC understands Atletico Madrid and Barcelona are keen on a deal. Getafe know the only real chance of landing him is likely through another loan, which Manchester United might consider if the permanent offers are not up to the level they want.

Pedro Neto – Wolverhampton Wanderers

The Portuguese winger has been sensational for Wolves after coming back from injury and he is now primed for a move and he looks set to move within England. HITC understands that after a stunning season at Molineux, some of the division’s big-hitters are showing an interest in Pedro Neto, including Liverpool and Arsenal.

Ian Maatsen – Chelsea

The Dutch wing-back has enjoyed an excellent campaign on-loan at Borussia Dortmund since moving in January. HITC understands Ian Maatsen is keen to join Borussia Dortmund permanently with a summer move now in the pipeline.

Thomas Partey – Arsenal

A loyal servant to The Gunners – the Ghanaian is hugely appreciated by injuries have always been an issue. He has interest in Italy but is also a target for the Saudi Pro League.

Giovani Lo Celso – Tottenham

Just four league starts for the Argentine international, who just does not see himself as a squad player at this stage of his career and he is ready to move with a host of clubs in Spain and Italy keen on landing the 28-year-old.

Kalvin Phillips – Manchester City

HITC understands that Manchester City do not expect Kalvin Phillips to remain at West Ham beyond the end of the season. HITC has also reported that Phillips’s former club Leeds do have an interest in taking him back to Elland Road – but this was dependent on them returning to the Premier League.

Eddie Nketiah – Arsenal

The England international has seen his chances limited this season and Eddie Nketiah will be allowed to Arsenal this summer with a number of Premier League rivals ready to take him. HITC understands West Ham United, Crystal Palace, Fulham and AFC Bournemouth are all keen, but Arsenal are seeking up to £40 million for his signature.

Pierre Emile-Hojbjerg – Tottenham Hotspur

The Dane was strongly linked with a move in January, that didn’t happen but he will be moving this summer. He could very well try his luck in Spain after his time in Germany and England.

Casemiro – Manchester United

The former Real Madrid star had a great first season at Old Trafford but he has not replicated that form. Strongly linked with a switch to Saudi Arabia and United are pushing him to make such a move, HITC understands.

Dominic Solanke – AFC Bournemouth

Solanke is one of the Premier League’s top-scorers and because of that it has pushed him towards the exit door at the Vitality Stadium. He is under contract until the summer of 2027 at the Vitality Stadium, and while Bournemouth were able to hold onto him in January, they may have their work cut out this summer.

Armando Broja – Chelsea

Broja joined Fulham in January – that loan deal has not gone well, but it confirms that he has little future at Stamford Bridge and he will move on.

Trevoh Chalobah – Chelsea

Chelsea have made it clear to Trevoh Chalobah that they will look to sell him this summer. It is believed that the 24-year-old has been reluctant to leave and remains confident he can force his way into the club’s long-term plans, but a sizeable offer would be encouraged by the club. Tottenham are showing interest.

Michael Olise – Crystal Palace

The former Reading man almost joined Chelsea last year, he signed a new deal but that was only delayed his next move which will almost certainly come this summer. Arsenal, Manchester City and Liverpool are among the clubs lining up to sign Crystal Palace winger Michael Olise. HITC understands that the player’s representatives have fielded enquiries and there is interest from Manchester United and Tottenham Hotspur too.

Raheem Sterling – Chelsea

Major changes are coming at Chelsea and even some who were brought in by the current regime are not safe. Raheem Sterling was one of the first big-names through the door but there is a very good chance he moves on. HITC understands that Major League Soccer have an interest in bringing in Raheem Sterling, if he does leave Chelsea this summer.

Amadou Onana – Everton

One of Everton’s prized assets and was linked with a move in January. Everton’s ongoing issues with their takeover means one big sale is likely and if they do, that will surely be Onana.

Kepa Arrizabalaga – Chelsea

Kepa has never lived up to his billing at Chelsea and some fans would even forget he is still their player as he is on-loan at Real Madrid. No matter who is manager, there is no sign of a route back for him.

Miguel Almiron – Newcastle United

The Paraguayan known as ‘Miggy’ to the Toon faithful has been a wonderful servant to the club, but the time has probably come for him to move in. The Saudi Pro League looks a likely destination, with Newcastle receiving an approach for him in the January transfer window.

Emile Smith-Rowe – Arsenal

Struggling for game time at Arsenal, his chances of England duty this summer are in tatters – he needs a move, and will get one.

Bryan Gil – Tottenham Hotspur

Still only 23, Gil has made it clear he doesn’t want to go out on loan again – he will be sold by Spurs this summer. The Spaniard has interest from his homeland with the likes of Sevilla, Real Sociedad and Valencia keen, whilst Lazio have also looked closely at Gil. However, HITC has been told that he could have possible options in England with the likes of Brentford, Brighton and Hove Albion, Crystal Palace and Fulham all possible options.

Tosin Adarabioyo – Fulham

Fulham defender Tosin Adarabioyo has emerged as one of the Premier League’s most in-demand free agents. The former Manchester City defender has interest from Newcastle, Chelsea and Tottenham Hotspur, with HITC reporting interest from Manchester United back in March.

**UPDATED: Tosin Adarabioyo has signed for Chelsea**

Lloyd Kelly – AFC Bournemouth

One of the big free agents to hit the market this summer. He could move to Italy, but the chances are he joins a big Premier League club. HITC understands Lloyd Kelly has turned down Bournemouth‘s latest offer of a new deal, which would have made him one of the club’s top earners. Sources have confirmed to HITC that Newcastle are seen as the favourites to secure Kelly’s signature at this stage. Tottenham Hotspur and Liverpool have shown a strong interest in Kelly

Ben Johnson – West Ham United

A star who could leave West Ham, Ben Johnson is going to be available on a free transfer. The former England Under-21 man might get himself a good move within the Premier League. HITC understands Aston Villa, Everton, Wolves and Premier League rivals Tottenham Hotspur all running the rule over the out-of-contract defender. Sources have told HITC that clubs in Italy, France and Germany have talked to Johnson’s representatives too. Leeds United also looked in January, and could return.

Hayden Hackney – Middlesbrough

The dynamic midfielder has taken his game on this season and was key to Boro’s run to the League Cup semi-finals – he is expected to be the next big-name sale from the club’s famed academy.

Morgan Whittaker – Plymouth Argyle

His first full season at Home Park, but despite the Pilgrims’ own struggles – Whittaker has been outstanding and it would be a shock to see him not moving on. He was also subject of a January approach from Serie A side Lazio.

Callum O’Hare – Coventry City

The Coventry midfielder is a hugely intriguing prospect and the fact he is out-of-contract means he is almost certain to move on this summer. Burnley made an offer for O’Hare in January, HITC reported.

Anthony Patterson – Sunderland

Widely recognised as one of the best goalkeepers outside the Premier League. A number of clubs see the young Englishman as an ideal number two who can progress, whilst also being homegrown. HITC has reported Arsenal, Liverpool and Manchester City have all expressed interest, and Sunderland are expecting to cash in on the former under-21 international.

European football transfers expected in 2024

Kylian Mbappe – Paris Saint-Germain

The most talked about player in the world, will almost certainly complete his long awaited move to La Liga. Sources have told HITC that Kylian Mbappe has decided to join Real Madrid on a free transfer at the end of the season.

** UPDATED: Kylian Mbappe has signed for Real Madrid**

Victor Osimhen – Napoli

Osimhen signed a new contract earlier this year and that included a release clause, which is what will be used to land him this summer. HITC understands the Nigeria international striker is Chelsea’s first choice striker signing this summer and had scouts in attendance to see him score a hat-trick earlier in 2024. Other clubs are interested with PSG looking to replacing Kylian Mbappe and Mikel Arteta’s Arsenal also keen.

Alphonso Davies – Bayern Munich

Davies is regarded as one of the best left-backs or wing-backs in the world – Bayern want him to stay but the fact he won’t sign a new deal means he is set to join Real Madrid this summer. There was interest from the Premier League, but HITC understands Davies’s camp have told Manchester City and Liverpool, that the Bayern Munich star has decided to move join Real Madrid.

Viktor Gyokeres – Sporting Lisbon

The former Coventry City striker has become one of Europe’s most in-demand and talked about strikers. AC Milan want him but they may find it hard to beat his Premier League suitors to his signature. HITC reported Manchester United are showing an interest in Viktor Gyokeres and the striker is keen on a move to England, but they fear Liverpool could scupper their chances of landing him if they appoint Sporting boss Ruben Amorim.

Andre – Fluminense

The Brazilian international has long been linked with England with both Liverpool and Fulham holding talks – he is almost certain to get his move to Europe this summer. The midfielder snubbed interest from Turkey and Russia in February to hold out for a potential Premier League move this summer, HITC reported.

Kevin Denkey – Cercle Brugge

Cercle Brugge striker Kevin Denkey has scored at a prolific rate in the Belgian league and is expected to land a big move this summer. HITC understood Denkey was under consideration by Chelsea in January.

Nico Williams – Athletic Bilbao

The young Spanish international is one of the La Liga top prospects, but having signed a new deal – that did mean he had a release clause confirmed of less than £50million. It is fully expected that one of the Premier League clubs are ready to exercise that. HITC understands Nico Williams’ representatives are informing teams that the Athletic Bilbao winger is ready to agree a transfer, with Aston Villa and Liverpool showing interest.

Vangelis Pavlidis – PSV

Prolific in the Eredivisie this season with 33 goals for the club, Greek striker Vangelis Pavlidis has a number of admirers. HITC reported back in January that West Ham United, Fulham and Crystal Palace had been watching his progress.

Jota – Al-Ittihad

The former Celic midfielder has found a little game time towards the end of the season but he will be heading back to Europe and most likely back to the UK. Tottenham, West Ham United considered a possible deal in January, whilst HITC understands the likes of Brighton, Everton and Newcastle United also weighed up moves.

Jeremie Frimpong – Bayer Leverkusen

Dutch wing-back Jeremie Frimpong has been outstanding for Bayer under Xabi Alonso. The former Celtic man is widely expected to move and he could very well end up in the Premier League, where he began at Manchester City. HITC reported Arsenal have scouted Jeremie Frimpong, while Manchester United are long term admirers.

Antonio Nusa – Club Brugge

The Norway international is a top prospect. A medical saw a move to Brentford collapse in January and he won’t be a Brugge player next season. HITC understands that Tottenham remain keen on Club Brugge youngster Antonio Nusa, having expressed an interest in a potential £25 million January deal.

Khephren Thuram – Nice

An outstanding young talent and has long been linked with a move from Nice, 2024 seems like the year he will finally get that big transfer. HITC understands midfielder Khephren Thuram is being considered by Ineos to make the move to Manchester United. Arsenal, Chelsea, Liverpool, Newcastle and Tottenham have all taken a keen interest the France international at various points in the last 18-months.

Jean-Clair Todibo – Nice

The one-time Barcelona defender has rebuilt his reputation in France. Manchester United amongst the sides linked with the left-sided centre-back. Tottenham Hotspur were also linked with a January move before signing Radu Dragusin.

Leny Yoro – Lille

One of the most talked about young players in Europe – Lille defender Leny Yoro is being monitored by all the big clubs. He will leave and Real Madrid are firm favourites to capture him. HITC revealed that Arsenal and Chelsea were represented at Villa Park to watch him in the Europa Conference League clash.

Ryan Kent – Fenerbahce

The former Rangers man has barely featured for Turkish giants Fenerbahce since his summer move. A move, most likely loan, looks more than likely this summer. Lazio moved for the former Liverpool youngster in January but a move fell through.

Martin Zubimendi – Real Sociedad

The Spanish midfielder is a Rolls-Royce in the Sociedad midfield. HITC sources have confirmed that Mikel Arteta is ‘fascinated’ by Zubimendi and is a ‘big fan’, with Arsenal sending scouts to Spain earlier this year to check him out in action. The Spanish side do not want to sell, but he has a release clause.

Santiago Gimenez – Feyenoord

The Mexican is one of the stand-out striking prospects in Europe, if not the world – the chances of Feyenoord keeping him are remote. A host of Premier League clubs are tracking the Mexican, including Arsenal, Chelsea, Fulham, Tottenham and West Ham – whilst a number of clubs in Europe are also keeping close tabs on his progress, with Borussia Dortmund, AC Milan and Monaco amongst those who are keen. He has emerged as Tottenham’s top striker transfer target.

Benjamin Sesko – RB Leipzig

Arsenal, Chelsea, Manchester United and Newcastle are all in pursuit of the £55 million-rated RB Leipzig striker, HITC understands. Arsenal sent scouts to run the rule over Sesko as the Slovenia international scored for a seventh successive Bundesliga game at the end of the season.

Johan Bakayoko – PSV Eindhoven

Another top young Belgian. Bakayoko almost moved to the Premier League last summer. A summer move looks set to happen for him this time, but remains to be seen if he will move to England or not. He may be of interest to new Liverpool boss Arne Slot.

Karim Benzema – Al-Ittihad

One of the Saudi Pro League’s big name arrivals, but he looks to be on his way and the arrival of Mo Salah should help smooth his departure. Karim Benzema was offered to Chelsea late in the January transfer window, HITC reported.
