HITC football understands Lazio’s deal to sign Ryan Kent on loan from Fenerbahce is now off.

Lazio moved for the former Liverpool and Rangers man after failing with their attempts to land Jack Clarke and Morgan Whittaker – as we revealed.

Kent has been linked with a return to Ibrox and also a switch to the Premier League with Burnley amongst those to show an interest, but instead, he is heading for the Eternal City.

HITC now understands the deal is off.

What was happening with Ryan Kent and Lazio?

So what was happening?

HITC understood that Kent had agreed terms on a loan with a deal worth £3.5 million.

Kent joined Fenerbache in June 2023 from Ibrox when his contract was up this summer and agreed to a four-year deal with the Turkish side, but hasn’t exactly hit the ground running.

He’s played just 15 times in the Super Lig, scoring once – which has led to him seeking refuge elsewhere. That club appears to be Lazio, where Kent will be looking to revive his career.

However, this is now not the case – with Kent staying put.

Ryan Kent has changed his mind

HITC understands that Ryan Kent has backed out of the Serie A move after changing his mind. Lazio then pulled the plug on the deal at the last minute. The English winger will have to wait a little longer to revive his career elsewhere.
