Liverpool forward Mohamed Salah is set to get a record-breaking offer in the summer transfer window from the Saudi Pro League, HITC understands.

Mohamed Salah has been on the books of Liverpool since 2017 when the former Chelsea man joined in a then club record deal from Roma, and has gone on to become a legend at Anfield.

Mohamed Salah a legend at Liverpool

Salah has won the Premier League and the UEFA Champions League among other major trophies at Liverpool and has become a goal machine under manager Jurgen Klopp.

The 31-year-old Egypt international forward is under contract at Liverpool until the summer of 2025. Former Manchester City star Micah Richards considers Salah very “valuable” and “special” for the Reds, and has urged the club’s owners FSG not to sell him at the end of the season.

However, Liverpool are facing the prospect of losing Salah at the end of the season. HITC understands that the Saudi Pro League are focused on securing the former Chelsea player this summer and will make him the highest-paid player in football.

Saudi Pro League determined to sign Mohamed Salah

The Saudi Pro League have always seen landing Salah as their priority, as they wanted to lure the world’s most prominent Muslim player to be the beacon of their league.

They already have Cristiano Ronaldo – currently the highest-paid player in the world at over £3 million a week – but HITC is told that they are prepared to top that with Salah.

Ronaldo is still performing at top level, but he is not considered one of the best. Salah, though, is different as he remains one of the Premier League’s top players and is still in his prime at the age of 31.

The Pro League’s plans have always been to try and entice some of the world’s top talent, but they want Salah as a Muslim to help inspire the local fanbase and the Middle East as a whole.

The ban on Paul Pogba has made the quest for Salah all the more important as they also wanted to bring the Juventus midfielder to the league this summer. Pogba is appealing, and if he gets the ban overturned remains a player of huge interest to the league, but Salah is their priority.
