- EXCLUSIVE from Graeme Bailey
Jurgen Klopp’s Liverpool and Pep Guardiola’s Manchester City will miss out on the signing of Kylian Mbappe, HITC understands.
Sources have told HITC that Kylian Mbappe has decided to join Real Madrid on a free transfer at the end of the season.
Kylian Mbappe agrees to join Real Madrid
Real Madrid sources have confirmed to HITC that an agreement has been finalised with Mbappe, who has already informed his club Paris Saint-Germain that he will not sign a new deal.
The 25-year-old France international striker, who is out of contract at PSG at the end of the season, agreed a five-year deal with Madrid and will become a Real player on July 1.
Mbappe made it clear to PSG last summer that he was set to leave the club, and Madrid have finally sealed an agreement with a player they have been trying to sign for a number of years.
Liverpool and Manchester City eyed Kylian Mbappe
As HITC had earlier revealed, Liverpool and Manchester City held an interest in Mbappe, but the two Premier League clubs never made an approach as they knew the player’s preference was to join Madrid.
Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta hinted last week that he would be interested in bringing the striker to the Emirates Stadium in the summer transfer window.

Former Tottenham Hotspur striker and talkSPORT pundit Darren Bent, who is an Arsenal fan, also urged the Gunners to get a deal done for Mbappe, who, he said on talkSPORT, has “blistering pace, dazzling skill and ice-cold finishing”.
Mbappe is one of the best players on the planet and is a superstar of the game. He won the 2018 FIFA World Cup with France and played in the final in the 2022 edition.
The Frenchman is a goal machine. The 25-year-old has scored 21 goals and given four assists in 18 Ligue starts for PSG this season. Mbappe has also scored four goals in seven UEFA Champions League games this campaign.
