Liverpool fans are hoping for new signings in the final stages of the transfer window but Arne Slot could lose Sepp van den Berg.
The Reds have endured a very quiet summer so far.
New boss Arne Slot has yet to make a new signing this summer and has now missed out on a key transfer target.
Liverpool wanted Martin Zubimendi but the midfielder is now set to stay with Real Sociedad instead of moving to Anfield.
Liverpool may now end the summer without a new signing and the focus may actually be on more outgoings.
Fabio Carvalho has joined Brentford whilst HITC understands that Bobby Clark could be heading to Red Bull Salzburg.

Sepp van den Berg latest
Defender Sepp van den Berg also seems primed for a move away this summer after spending years away from the club on loan.
The centre back has spent time on loan at Preston North End, Schalke and Mainz and has returned to Merseyside this summer.
Van den Berg has been given chances to shine in pre-season but may still be behind the likes of Virgil van Dijk, Ibrahima Konate and Jarell Quansah.
That isn’t what the Dutchman wants having impressed so much at Mainz last season.
“He is a leader and the boss in the middle. He’s getting better and better,” said Mainz boss Bo Henriksen, as quoted by Get Football News Germany.
Wolfsburg want to sign Van den Berg whilst Mainz feel a little priced out with Liverpool demanding around £20million.
De Telegraaf in the Netherlands now claim that a host of other clubs are interested, including Bayer Leverkusen.
Bayer boss Xabi Alonso may look for another defender amid interest in Jonathan Tah and the former Liverpool midfielder is thought to have taken a liking to Van den Berg.
There is even interest from Slot’s former club as Voetbal International claim that Feyenoord want to sign Van den Berg this summer.
That would see Van den Berg return to Dutch football for the first time since leaving PEC Zwolle back in 2019.
How Feyenoord can fund a move
The price tag on Van den Berg could be the problem for Feyenoord.
The Dutch side aren’t big spenders in the transfer market and Van den Berg would cost around double their transfer record.
That makes a deal very, very unlikely but perhaps the Rotterdam side will sell a number of players and raise funds.
Defender David Hancko is a wanted man this summer and ESPN claim that they are demanding at least €30million (£26million) from Atletico Madrid.
Fellow defender Lutsharel Geertruida is wanted by Aston Villa whilst striker Santiago Gimenez has been targeted by Nottingham Forest.
Feyenoord could bring in big money before the end of the window but it would still take a real shift in strategy to go and splash out on Van dene Berg.
We would rate a move to Rotterdam as very unlikely despite the prospect of funds being raised, with Slot unable to do his old club a favour this summer.
