Liverpool could be about to make a huge mistake this summer with an exciting player departing the club this summer.

This summer has been a frustrating one for Liverpool under Arne Slot as the new manager of the Reds have yet to be able to sign a single first-team player during the off-season.

HITC had previously reported that Real Sociedad midfielder Martin Zubimendi had encouraged Liverpool that a deal could be done for the Spaniard.

However, HITC has now reported that Zubimendi is set to snub Liverpool and remain at Real Sociedad this summer.

Despite incoming being a frustration, it is one particular outgoing that could be a mistake this summer.

Liverpool could make mistake with Fabio Carvalho sale

HITC has reported that Brentford have agreed a fee to sign Liverpool’s Fabio Carvalho this summer with the Portuguese forward set to move to London in a £25 million deal.

Liverpool rejected a bid from Southampton for Carvalho earlier in the window and insisted they wanted to keep hold of the Portuguese winger.

Carvalho was hailed as outstanding when he first joined the Reds but the Portuguese forward never really got a chance to impress under Jurgen Klopp and he is now set to exit Anfield.

However, this could be a massive mistake, despite Liverpool believing that the offer was too good to not turn down.

Carvalho had featured heavily for Liverpool during pre-season with the Portuguese forward playing from the left and he scored against Manchester United and Arsenal.

The 21-year-old has looked brilliant in pre-season so it does seem like a strange decision to allow him to depart the club.

Carvalho deserved a chance at Liverpool

Luis Diaz has been linked with a move to Barcelona and the Colombian predominantly plays from the left so it does seem like a strange decision to allow him to leave.

Carvalho had two loan spells last season at Red Bull Leipzig and EFL Championship side Hull City but it was the temporary move to the English side which was much more successful.

The Portuguese forward netted 9 times in 20 Championship games for the team and he could be ready to thrive under Thomas Frank.

Liverpool have certainly gotten a decent fee for the forward, who completed his move to Brentford yesterday, but it is certainly a big risk to allow the 21-year-old to depart when he could have made a name for himself under Slot.
