For Newcastle, the summer of 2022 will be nothing like the summer of 2021 whatsoever, with plenty of change taking place on Tyneside.

Instead of rummaging through the bargain bins under Mike Ashley, the Magpies are expected to spend millions on Europe’s best under Amanda Staveley and Mehrdad Ghodoussi this summer.

So, who could Eddie Howe bring to St James’ Park this summer? Let’s take a look…

Potential Newcastle transfers

To start off, it would be rude not to mention Sven Botman.

The Dutchman was arguably the most high-profile target for Newcastle in January, with Staveley even confirming he was keen to join.

Now, The Times believe Newcastle will try again, so there’s a good chance of the 22-year-old playing in black and white next season.

Alongside him, we think Matt Targett will join permanently, although we won’t consider him a new signing as he’s already penned his current loan deal.

Behind the backline, Arsenal glovesman Bernd Leno is said to be a target for Newcastle in between the sticks.

We believe this move has a good chance of happening, as the German has lost his place to Aaron Ramsdale at the Emirates Stadium.

In midfield, the Magpies could reunite Bruno Guimaraes and Lucas Paqueta, who are good friends from their time at Lyon.

According to le10sport, the Brazilian is a target.

Onto the attack. 90min believe Newcastle have now joined Liverpool in the race to sign West Ham forward Jarrod Bowen, who would be a phenomenal signing for Howe.

In the centre of the frontline, Benfica marksman Darwin Nunez could join, with Dominic Calvert-Lewin and Patrik Schick also said to be targets.

Take a good, long look at this current Newcastle side, because it’s certain to become vastly different in the 2022/23 campaign.
