According to The Times, Eddie Howe’s Newcastle United are planning to make a bid of £27 million for Sven Botman, who turned down both the Magpies and Antonio Conte’s Tottenham Hotspur in the January transfer window.

Milan Live reported earlier this month that Lille defender Botman rejected both Newcastle and Tottenham in January.

However, Newcastle have not given up on signing the 22-year-old Dutch central defender.

The Times have reported that Newcastle made a bid of £27 million for Botman in January and will make a similar offer in the summer transfer window.

AC Milan are also keen on the youngster and are ready to offer him a five-year contract, according to the report.

Tottenham should rival Newcastle for Sven Botman

In our opinion, Tottenham should make a bid for Botman in the summer transfer window, just like Newcastle are planning.

Nothing has changed for Spurs since they reportedly tried to sign the youngster in January.

Now, of course, we know that Eric Dier, Ben Davies and Cristian Romero are doing well at the back, but there is always room for improvement in any squad.

And there is always the need for competition.

Botman is only 22, and it is evident that the defender will improve and develop further in the coming years.
