Tottenham Hotspur added another pre-season win to their tally on Wednesday, beating Team K League 4-3 in Seoul as Son Heung-min scored twice.

Ange Postecoglou’s men had already beaten Heart of Midlothian, Queens Park Rangers and Vissel Kobe in a strong start to pre-season.

Tottenham then backed it up with another win on Wednesday, beating a squad of players from across South Korea’s top flight – including new Spurs signing Yang Min-hyuk.

Dejan Kulusevski opened the scoring and the South Korean fans were able to see their hero Son Heung-min score twice.

Tottenham’s defending wasn’t exactly impressive though and Will Lankshear’s goal ended up handing Spurs a 4-3 win.

Tottenham now face Bayern Munich twice before opening the Premier League season with a trip to take on Leicester City.

Emerson Royal praised after Tottenham Hotspur win

Postecoglou will be pleased with another victory and he has picked out some performances after Wednesday’s game.

The Australian has praised the performance of midfielder Pape Matar Sarr, hailing his work rate as ‘unbelievable’.

Postecoglou felt that Lucas Bergvall struggled in terms of the physical demands though, believing that Spurs need to build the teenager up a little.

One Spurs player has received praise from elsewhere though, having impressed the opposition on Wednesday.

Right back Emerson Royal actually started as a centre back against Team K League.

Cristian Romero and Micky van de Ven remain unavailable, so the Brazilian was pressed into action as a central defender.

Tottenham leaked three goals but Emerson left Team K League players impressed.

Speaking to Four Four Two in South Korea, FC Seoul defender admitted being impressed with Emerson.

The full back knew about Emerson before the game but left thinking that he is ‘really good’ defensively.

Choi even added that other players in Team K League were saying the same thing as Emerson caught the eye.

“I knew about him, but after seeing him today, I thought, ‘He’s definitely really good at defence.’ Not only me, but all the players said the same thing.

Emerson future unclear

Team K League were seemingly impressed with Emerson but his Tottenham future remains unclear.

The former Barcelona man was stuck behind first-choice right back Pedro Porro for much of last season.

AC Milan want Emerson and we may well see a deal move forward once Tottenham return to England.

Emerson starting Wednesday’s game highlights that Emerson isn’t imminently close to leaving but a departure before this month’s transfer deadline is surely in the pipeline.

Tottenham are unlikely to stand in Emerson’s way as long as Milan come up with a decent offer, and this performance against Team K League could be one of his final appearances for Spurs.
