Tottenham are working towards making their second sale of the summer transfer window.

Spurs have already offloaded Joe Rodon for a £10million fee to Leeds United after he spent last season on loan with the Championship outfit.

In return for Rodon, Tottenham raided Leeds for 18-year-old midfielder Archie Gray in a £40million deal.

The only other summer arrival has been Lucas Bergvall, but Tottenham have also held talks for Federico Chiesa and are preparing a £25million bid.

Tottenham close in on Emerson Royal sale

Emerson Royal has fallen down the pecking order under Ange Postecoglou despite the Spurs boss previously branding him “outstanding“.

The impressive form of Pedro Porro has cemented his place as the starting right-back and a move away for Royal is now on the cards.

According to Sky Italia, AC Milan have made a proposal of £12.5million (15m Euros) with both clubs still in talks over a deal.

The report adds that Tottenham value the 25-year-old closer to £17million (20m Euros) leaving both clubs with work to do to finalise a deal.

However, a deal is getting “closer and closer” according to the Italian report.

Offloading Royal will provide Tottenham with a nice cash injection to reinvest for the rest of their squad.

With Postecoglou having to juggle league games with midweek European clashes next season more depth will be needed.

A new centre-forward could be on the cards with Spurs identifying Feyenoord’s Gimenez as their preferred target.

It could pave the way for Richarlison to leave this summer with Gabriel Agbonlahor urging Spurs to sell the Brazilian in a half-price deal.
