Tottenham Hotspur have made a 100% start to pre-season as the players get their legs pumping again.
Last summer, Ange Postecoglou had just arrived from Celtic and he was settling into his new surroundings.
Not forgetting that Harry Kane left Tottenham for Bayern Munich, so he had a lot to deal with and is far more settled now.
Their fifth-placed finish was better than many thought, with Kane going, some even felt the London club would struggle.
Paul Merson was soon changing his mind about Postecoglou’s Tottenham because he boosted the mood around the place and brought attacking football back to the club.
That feel-good energy has been apparent and visible in pre-season, as Spurs have picked up two wins from two.
Tottenham beat Hearts for their pre-season opener, before beating Championship side QPR 2-0.
Fans have got to see several new faces in action, but one player, in particular, has impressed Scott Minto.
The former Chelsea man lauded Archie Gray and how he has ‘started very well’, including playing at centre-back against Hearts, as he told talkSPORT (21/07/24 at 4:15 pm).
Just after his first game, Tottenham fans were all saying the same thing about Gray, with the teenager arriving from Leeds United this summer.

“When he brought in the likes of Archie Gray and I think he started (pre-season) very well indeed,” said Minto.
“Massive talent. It’s going to be a lot to ask him to go straight into that Spurs side.”

You don’t pay big money for a player like that to sit on the bench, you assume Gray will be starting games pretty soon.
What increases those chances are the changes that are about to be made to the club’s midfield.

Sources have told HITC that Tottenham midfielder Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg nears an exit after personal terms agreed with Marseille.
That’s one midfielder out of the door and the chance for Gray to push ahead and make himself a regular quicker than people think.
