Tottenham Hotspur fans were quick to comment on the performance of new signing Archie Gray during their pre-season friendly against Hearts.
Spurs splashed the cash on Archie Gray this summer, spending £40million to sign the highly-rated Leeds United midfielder.
The 18-year-old was thrust straight into the action by manager Ange Postecoglou in a behind-closed-doors friendly win over Cambridge United.
But fans were able to catch the talented teenager in action for the first time when Tottenham faced Hearts on Wednesday.
Eyebrows were raised when Gray – a natural central midfielder – was started at centre-back against the Scottish side.
He was a hot topic of conversation on social media for Tottenham fans who watched their team in action.

Tottenham put on a five-star display against Hearts, winning 5-1 in Tynecastle with goals from Brennan Johnson, Will Lankshear, Mikey Moore, Djed Spence and Lewis Neilson.
Gray played the opening 45 minutes alongside Oliver Skipp in centre-back with Jamie Donley and Pedro Porro playing either side of them in a back four.
The new Spurs signing was then replaced at half-time as Postecoglou introduced a full 11 changes to his side.
Fans were all saying the same thing about the talented teenager after getting their first glimpse at the £40million man.
“What a half he’s had – can play anywhere – totally composed. Impressive!” one Tottenham fan wrote while another said “He is truly amazing”.
One fan even drew comparisons between Gray and a former Spurs star – “Anyone else getting the Gareth Bale before he bulked up vibes?” he wrote.
A fourth Spurs fan posted: “He’s absolutely quality. Leeds fans weren’t joking” while one supporter suggested that Spurs should have paid more for Gray’s signature.
“Can we give Leeds more money for Archie Gray” they wrote.

Tottenham are clearly planning for the future and the arrival of Gray and Lucas Bergvall prove it.
But despite their age they will be expected to perform on the biggest stages next season as Postecoglou’s side chase Champions League qualification.

Gray proved he was one of the best in the Championship last season and he now has to prove he has the calibre to mix it in the Premier League.
Based off his display against Hearts, he is off to a good start.
