SS Lazio fans

One of Rome's two major clubs, Lazio were formed in 1900 and began playing football full-time in 1906. Lazio's first proper Scudetto came in 1973-74 inspired by legendary striker Giorgio Chinaglia, who spent his youth in Wales. The success didn't last too long and Lazio were relegated and only just avoided Serie C in a 1987 play-off. A rebirth under new owner Sergio Cragnotti brought glory as Lazio lifted the UEFA Cup Winners' Cup in 1999 and the Scudetto in 2000. Recently Lazio have been forced to sell their best players regularly to balance the books but they remain a force in the Coppa Italia which they won in 2004, 2009 and 2013.
