Graham Roberts has lauded Tottenham Hotspur goalkeeper Hugo Lloris amid rumours that he could be joining Lazio this summer.
The Tottenham legend added on Twitter that Hugo Lloris provided some ‘unreal memories’ during his time as the club’s number one, including helping the team to the Champions League final under Mauricio Pochettino’s stewardship.
Roberts also feels that the 36-year-old is the best keeper Tottenham have had since Ray Clemence – but now Lloris is keen to start a new, and perhaps, final chapter of his career.
On Sunday, Guglielmo Vicario made his Premier League debut for Spurs when he started in between the sticks during his side’s 2-2 draw at Brentford.
It has been obvious for a while now that a new number one has been needed because Lloris had become way too error-prone during these last few years.
But Roberts was keen to remember the good times that the recently-retired France international provided.

“Wishing Hugo all the best if his move to Lazio goes through,” said Roberts.
“For me, the best keeper we have had since Clem (Ray Clemence) and given us some unreal memories. Good luck Hugo. COYS.”
Tottenham’s longest-serving player
The £100k-a-week star (Spotrac) signed for Spurs in 2012 when Andres-Villas Boas was in charge and he has seen a sea change at the club during that period.
Whilst they aren’t in Europe now, with the arrival of Mauricio Pochettino, the London club became regulars in the Champions League and even challenged for the Premier League title.
With Ange Postecoglou back in the dugout, fans are hoping to return to those days because it seems long in the distance now.
