Manchester United look set to sell Mason Greenwood to Marseille but one club believes they are not yet out of the race for the Englishman.
HITC had reported that Mason Greenwood had made up his mind and a move to French giants Marseille was looking like the most plausible route of departure for the Manchester United forward.
Last season, following the Red Devils’ investigation of Mason Greenwood, the club decided that a loan move away from Old Trafford was the best cause of action and the Englishman spent the entire campaign at Getafe.
After a very successful campaign in Spain, this increased interest in the forward with multiple top European sides understood to be keen.

Club CEO hasn’t given up in race for Greenwood
Despite a deal to take the forward to Marseille looking close to being agreed, with a £25 million fee and a generous sell-on clause included in the deal, one club is not giving up.
One club president who is not giving up the ghost is Lazio’s Angelo Fabiani who spoke to TuttomercatoWeb about the possibility of signing Greenwood.
“We were already dealing with him last year,” Fabiani said. “we are still in contact with Manchester United. There are still hassle but this is part of the football market, the devil’s advice is eaten by the fox and I am not a fox.”
The Italian club are seemingly still pushing on the deal and are certainly not giving up hope of landing the United forward.
Sales for United are key starting with Greenwood
With the Red Devils missing out on Champions League football, and the crucial revenue that comes with it, player sales will be key.
Greenwood would bring in around £30 million to add to the Old Trafford coffers and the same could be said of Jadon Sancho, who is understood to be attracting interest from Juventus.
With Dan Ashworth in place as the club’s new sporting director, the Englishman will certainly have his job cut out for him to help support Erik ten Hag and the transfer team, including Christopher Vivell, in the transfer market.
