Steven Gerrard has reacted positively to the brilliant performance put in by Stefan Bajcetic on Instagram, as Liverpool beat Everton 2-0 in the Merseyside Derby.

The Spaniard earned rave reviews for his tremendous display, with Jamie Carragher, Ian Rush and Leon Osman singing his praises. And Mohamed Salah went as far as to say that the 18-year-old has been the Reds’ ‘best player’ since the World Cup.

If Stefan Bajcetic is understandably over the moon after the reaction to his showing for Liverpool against Everton, imagine how he must feel after discovering that Steven Gerrard was also in awe on Instagram.

The former Aston Villa manager is widely regarded as the club’s greatest ever player and captain, and represents the team and the city like no other to this day.

As a result, Stefan Bajcetic would be delighted to note that Steven Gerrard commented under an Instagram post captioned, ‘Brilliant tonight @stefanbajcetic’ with fire and clap emojis.

The other ex-players in the replies were Jose Enrique and Adebayo Akinfenwa, who were blown away by the youngster’s stylish outing.

It doesn’t get bigger than the Steven Gerrard seal of approval for any Reds player

It really is as simple as that.

Not only is Steven Gerrard Mr. Liverpool but also a man of few words, so for him to go out of his way on Instagram to laud the ‘outstanding’ Stefan Bajcetic after his superb performance against Everton is telling.

The Champions League winner has been there and done that for years on end, and especially in struggling midfields, which is why he would have valued Bajcetic stepping up to the plate in such a huge fixture.

Ultimately, Spain’s next poster child deserves all the praise he is getting.
