Chelsea open to selling attacker after 12 months, he’s frustrated by Mauricio Pochettino’s exit

HITC understands that Chelsea are open to selling Nicolas Jackson this summer, with the player frustrated by Mauricio Pochettino’s departure from the club.

After an up-and-down campaign in the Premier League, the London outfit finished on a strong note and secured a sixth-placed finish.

Rather than securing Europa League football, Manchester United’s surprise FA Cup final win over Manchester City meant that Chelsea had to settle for Europa Conference League football next term.

Despite there being positive vibes around the place, Pochettino still left and Jackson was one of the players to express his disappointment on social media.

Chelsea are open to selling Nicolas Jackson

The 23-year-old arrived from Villarreal last summer for a £32 million fee (The Guardian), and despite a tough start, he was a relative success with 14 Premier League goals to his name.

The Senegal star’s standout moment came when he netted a hat-trick away at Tottenham Hotspur, even if they were down to ten and then nine men during the game.

No Upcoming Fixtures

HITC is told that a number of Chelsea’s squad were left upset by the club’s parting of the ways with Pochettino and Jackson was one of them.

He is also concerned about his role in the squad, with Chelsea concentrating a lot of their efforts so far this summer on a new font-line striker, whilst also landing Barcelona’s Marc Guiu.

Could Nicolas Jackson sign for Newcastle United or Atletico Madrid?  

But Jackson does have interest – HITC can confirm that Atletico Madrid have enquired about the forward, as have AC Milan, Roma, Marseille and Monaco.

HITC also understands that there is Premier League interest in Jackson, should he be allowed to leave.

HITC revealed earlier this week that Chelsea had an enquiry for Newastle’s Alexander Isak knocked back, but it is believed they would consider including Jackson in a possible bid – but, as it stands, Newcastle have shown no inclination to consider any offer for the Swede.

Isak is regarded as one of the best forwards in the Premier League after the 24-year-old netted 21 goals last term for a Newcastle side that finished one place below Chelsea.
