Chelsea are set for another busy and potentially interesting summer transfer window.
When the players start flooding in, you have to wonder how much of a role and say the club’s new manager Enzo Maresca will have.
Mauricio Pochettino left Chelsea for a reason and it’s pretty clear transfers played a huge part because the power lies with those in the boardroom.
Even before Maresca could be brought in, Chelsea brought in their first signing of the summer when they added Tosin Adarabioyo to their ranks on a free transfer after he left Fulham.
Whilst the ball-playing defender is 26, it seems as though Chelsea are still deploying the tactic of having the world’s best young stars at their disposal.
That’s why the London club are about to sign Barcelona teenager Marc Guiu. An 18-year-old striker who has made seven senior appearances.
Sources have told HITC how Barcelona feel about the prospect of Guiu moving to Chelsea, as the deal is imminent.
No Upcoming Fixtures
Former Chelsea player Craig Burley reacted to this news and labelled it ‘very interesting’, as he told ESPN.
Fans don’t mind these young guns coming in because they have exciting potential.
But as Burley pointed out, the club, at some point, have to bring in someone for the ‘here and now’ because it’s pretty obvious that’s what is needed.

“The Marc Guiu is a very interesting strategy,” said Burley. “I suppose, for Chelsea, they are going to have to bring in players that could do it here and now. That’s obviously for the future.”
Will Chelsea bring in proven players?
There isn’t much experience in the Chelsea dressing room, nor with the coaching staff given that this is only Maresca’s second full season in charge of a club and the first time he is in the Premier League.
It needs to be noted that Thiago Silva has left, so that’s another experienced head the young players can’t rely on.

Yes, if Chelsea start the new season very well, then they will be hard to stop because there will be a fearless nature to their game.
But if things are a little indifferent, then fans will turn on the players pretty quickly and it won’t bode well for anyone associated with the club.
