The agent of an Inter Milan ace has admitted that there has been contact in the past with Manchester City and Real Madrid for his client.

Manchester City have been quiet in the summer transfer market with Brazilian winger Salvio the only signing made by the Premier League champions after a successful spell at Girona.

City are keen on adding to their midfield department and the Citizens remain interested in Spanish midfielder Dani Olmo, with Barcelona seeing their offer for RB Leipzig attacking midfielder rejected.

As for Real Madrid, the European Champions missed out on the signing of Leny Yoro with the teenager deciding to move to Manchester United after the Red Devils gazumped Los Blancos for the teenager.

Alessandro Bastoni’s agent admits interest from Man City

Inter Milan defender Alessandro Bastoni has been a revelation for the Italian giants since joining from Parma back in 2019.

The 25-year-old has established himself as a vital part of the Inter machine as Simone Inzaghi’s side romped to the Scudetto under his leadership with Bastoni playing a key part.

Last season for Inter, Bastoni made 28 Serie A appearances for the club scoring once and providing three assists.

Bastoni’s agent, Tullio Tinti, has revealed that City had asked about signing the Italian defender a couple of years ago but Inter will certainly not countenance a sale now.

“Man City asked for Bastoni years ago, recently Real Madrid did the same,” Tinti said as per Fabrizio Romano.

“Inter want to win and they’re not gonna sell their top players like Bastoni.”

City certainly do not need more defensive cover

One of the priorities for City this summer will be a new midfielder amid the uncertainty surrounding Kevin De Bruyne’s future at the Etihad Stadium.

HITC had reported that De Bruyne was prepared to wait 12 months before making a decision on his future at the Etihad Stadium.

Nevertheless, contingency planning will be key for City who will have to start thinking about replacements for the Belgian.

A forward could also be a target with HITC reporting that Julian Alvarez is keen to depart City this summer and has made his feelings clear to the club.

To that end, a new defender may well be low down the list of priorities for the club.
