Manchester United sources have confirmed to HITC that Leny Yoro is due in England to begin a medical.

The Red Devils are inching closer to completing their second signing of the summer after finalising a move for Joshua Zirkzee on Sunday.

As HITC revealed on Tuesday – Manchester United‘s minority owners Ineos have been leading the push for Yoro and they instigated the club’s bid for him last week, which was accepted by Lille.

The 18-year-old centre-back is now due to arrive in England to begin his medical and finalise the deal.

The final hurdle in completing the deal is Leny Yoro agreeing personal terms but HITC understands that progress is being made quickly with the player now willing to move to Old Trafford.

Real Madrid have been leading the race to sign Yoro, but the young defender was persuaded that a move to the Premier League was his best option this summer.

Manchester United could sell to make space for Matthijs De Ligt

United’s search for defensive reinforcements will not stop with the arrival of Yoro.

HITC understands that United are also continuing talks with Bayern Munich over a deal for Matthijs de Ligt.

As it stands, the two clubs have been unable to agree a fee for the Dutch defender, but De Ligt has informed the German giants that he wants to move to Old Trafford.

HITC understands that the deal for Yoro will not put De Ligt’s move in jeopardy with United targeting two central defenders this summer.

It is expected that Victor Lindelof could follow Raphael Varane out the exit door at Old Trafford to make space for new defensive reinforcements.
