HITC understands that Manchester City’s stance over Julian Alvarez remains unchanged and they have no desire to let the Argentine forward leave the club this summer.

Julian Alvarez has some concerns over his role at Manchester City with the 24-year-old forward frustrated at his lack of game time in the Champions League.

Sources confirm that Alvarez spoke with Pep Guardiola and City’s hierarchy at the end of the season at which point he vented his frustrations.

HITC understands that City are willing to offer Alvarez fresh terms despite his current contract running for four more years – however, he has so far shown little appetite to engage in talks.

City sources confirm that the club have little desire to let Alvarez leave this summer, but they are aware of the player’s continued stance.

It is understood that Alvarez’s team have been working on potential options should City be open to an exit.

La Liga giants Real Madrid and Barcelona are both long-term admirers of Alvarez but they are not ready to mount a bid for him this summer.

Chelsea could swoop for Julian Alvarez this summer

With Real Madrid already bolstered by the arrivals of Kylian Mbappe and Endrick and Barcelona concentrating all their efforts on landing Nico Williams, the Spanish duo are currently out of the equation for Alvarez’s signature.

However, the one club who is pushing hardest for Alvarez this summer is Premier League rivals Chelsea.

HITC can confirm that the Blues are closely following his situation at City and are willing to make an offer for him.
