Some Arsenal fans on social media have been reacting after The Athletic reported that the Gunners are the best-placed club to sign Dusan Vlahovic.
What’s the story with Vlahovic?
The Serbian striker is one of the most coveted players in Europe right now.
The likes of Tottenham, Juventus and Newcastle are all reportedly keen on the forward, but The Athletic reckon that Arsenal are in the strongest position to sign him this month.
Interestingly, it wasn’t too long ago that it was reported that the attacker was unwilling to even answer the Gunners’ calls, but now, it sounds as though the London club are well in the race.
Much-needed signing
Arsenal may be in pole position for Vlahovic because they need him more than any other top club.
The Gunners have something of a striking crisis on their hands at the moment. Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang is in exile, while Alexandre Lacazette and Eddie Nketiah are out of contract in the summer.
Vlahovic is a quality striker who is available, so it makes so much sense for Arsenal to make this move.
Of course, whether or not the Fiorentina forward does end up heading to the Emirates is another story.
