Arsenal and Tottenham Hotspur transfer target Ferran Torres was involved in an incredible on-field scrap with Stefan Savic during Barcelona’s 1-0 win at Atletico Madrid on Sunday in La Liga.

With minutes left on the clock, Diego Simeone’s side were pushing for a goal, before an off-the-ball tussle, like they are auditioning for WWE, began to ensue between substitute Ferran Torres and wind-up-merchant, Stefan Savic.

From Savic’s elbow into the stomach of the former Manchester City man to Torres, 22, pulling the centre-back’s hair, it resulted in the duo getting sent off, as posted by La LigaTV.

Surprise, surprise, an Atletico Madrid player is involved in WWE-like antics on the football pitch. Those images perhaps indicate what Simeone’s men are all about.

From Atletico Madrid’s perspective, you would love to have that type of fight, passion and over-the-line aggression in your team.

But as Manchester City witnessed in the Champions League last season, you don’t want to face it and it’s something opposing players and fans hate.

ARSENAL AND TOTTENHAM’S INTEREST IN TORRES

The January transfer window is open and Torres, who joined Barcelona from Man City for £55 million (Sky Sports) during the 2021 winter window, is being tipped for a return to England.

Mikel Arteta’s Arsenal and Antonio Conte’s Tottenham are two clubs mentioned, although, it seems as though the Premier League leaders see the Spain international as a Mykhailo Mudryk alternative.

Either way, Torres has Premier League experience, he is also a Spain international and he can play across the front three, so from that perspective, he can plug many holes.

It’s the goals department where the questions are raised because, since moving to the Nou Camp, he has 12 goals in 47 matches in all competitions.
