Divock Origi has now signed his contract with AC Milan to join the Serie A leaders in a free transfer this summer once his Liverpool deal ends after the Rossoneri increased their offer.
That’s according to Sport Mediaset, who report the San Siro ownership were fundamental to convincing the Belgian of the move. AC Milan made untiring efforts to seal the 26-year-old’s arrival. But negotiations over a pay cut from his Anfield salary were proving difficult.
Origi will walk away from a €4m-a-year (£64k-a/w) deal in June once his terms end. Yet AC Milan’s initial proposal was worth just €3m (£48k-a/w), but have now increased the sum to €3.5m (£56k-a/w). And the Rossoneri’s efforts to bridge the difference has proven fruitful.

AC Milan will award Origi a three-year contract upon his arrival from Liverpool in a Bosman transfer. The deal will also include the option for a further 12-months, and is now pending only official confirmation. All necessary signatures are on paper from the player and club.
The 32-cap international’s San Siro switch brings the curtain down on his seven seasons on Merseyside. After spending the first year following a £10m move to Anfield back at former side Lille on loan, the 2014 signing has played 171 times, scoring 40 and assisting 17 goals.
Divock Origi pens AC Milan deal after Serie A leaders up offer to Liverpool star
Origi – who Caoimhin Kelleher has called ‘unreal’ – will leave Liverpool for AC Milan at the end of his contract, having rarely featured for Jurgen Klopp so far this season. The Belgian has only played 14 times for five goals and three assists. He has also started just five times.

Of his outings, five – and zero starts – have come in the Premier League, with his last game on February 23. Now, he will hope to help the Rossoneri defend the Serie A next season, if Stefano Pioli seals the Scudetto. And he will move to Italy after rejecting various rival bids.
Reports by Takvim note Fenerbahce have met with Origi’s agent to discuss a free transfer from Liverpool. Calciomercato also report he snubbed several Premier League clubs for a move to the San Siro. A move he now very much seems to have secured for the summer.
