Divock Origi has ‘promised himself’ to AC Milan after the Liverpool striker snubbed several bids to join Premier League or Bundesliga sides in a free transfer at the end of the season.
That’s according to Calciomercato, who note the Belgian could pen his Rossoneri contract in a matter of days. Origi has entered a crucial period for his negotiations with the Serie A side, after giving priority to moving to the San Siro once his Reds contract lapses this June.
The forward feels Stefano Pioli’s outfit will offer the best option for his career after a tough term at Anfield. Origi has played just 14 games across all competitions and has only started five of his appearances. His 533 minutes in total also only equate to under six full matches.

Multiple English and German top-flight teams explored the 26-year-old’s situation with his Merseyside departure imminent. But Origi has snubbed remaining in the Premier League or returning to Germany following a loan spell with Wolfsburg during the 2017/18 season.
Divock Origi promises himself to AC Milan after Liverpool star snubs Prem switch
Origi will leave Liverpool when his £60k-a-week contract expires in June and hope to enjoy far more minutes at AC Milan in a free transfer than he has managed on Merseyside so far this season. Especially after snubbing English and German interest to head to the San Siro.

Newcastle United may have been one of the Premier League clubs that the 31-cap Belgian snubbed. The Northern Echo cited the Magpies’ interest in Origi back in November as they set about establishing their winter shortlist. So, they may have also explored a free switch.
But Origi has selected AC Milan, it seems, following Calciomercato noting he has used the international break to discuss life in Serie A with Rossoneri star and his Belgian teammate Alexis Saelemaekers after they offered the Liverpool forward €4m-a-year (£64k-a/w) net.
Now, Pioli will hope he sees the striker Liverpool goalkeeper Caoimhin Kelleher praises for producing ‘unreal’ performances should Origi complete his likely free transfer to AC Milan.
