As Tottenham Hotspur prepare to face Wolves, Cristian Stellini has said that Oliver Skipp could become a leader at the club eventually.
The youngster joined the club at the age of 5 and has risen up the ranks from the academy. The 22-year-old was described by the Italian coach as ‘amazing’ after he stole the headlines against Chelsea with a belter of a strike from outside the box in their recent 2-0 win.
Now, Cristian Stellini has said that Oliver Skipp has the minerals to emerge as a leader at Tottenham for years to come, ahead of his side’s clash against Wolves.
Cristian Stellini says Oliver Skipp could become a leader at Tottenham pre-Wolves
Clement Lenglet lauded the Englishman for overcoming ‘difficult moments’, which could allude to injuries and waiting for a starting place in the side, and going on to prove his worth with style against the Blues.
In his latest press conference ahead of his side’s contest against Wolves, Cristian Stellini said Oliver Skipp could emerge as a true leader at Tottenham.

“He could be a Tottenham leader for sure because he’s a nice guy and he can show with his behaviour the way to be a leader, the way that everyone has to follow him”, he said, as quoted by PA writer George Sessions.
High praise
Considering Spurs are often ridiculed for their lack of leadership and mentality monsters in the side, perhaps one of their own could help overturn this reputation after all.
However, Cristian Stellini may well be right about Oliver Skipp being a natural leader as Jose Mourinho reportedly saw a captain in him during his time at Tottenham.
One hopes that the ‘brilliant’ defensive midfielder does do so as it would make for a truly heart-warming story to see the academy talent lead his teammates for years to come.
