Oliver Skipp is one of the most promising prospects that Tottenham Hotspur have churned out since Harry Kane.

He might not ever be as influential for Spurs as his prolific teammate, but big things were and are still expected of the young midfielder in North London.

In fact, former Tottenham boss Jose Mourinho even tipped him to captain the club at some point in the future [Standard].

But if one transfer rumour is true, the 22-year-old may not have much of a Lilywhites career left in the near future.

That’s because Tottenham have reportedly made a bid to sign Franck Kessie of Barcelona [Radioestadio Noche].

The Ivory Coast international has been on the North Londoners’ radar for a while and moving for him now makes a lot of sense.

Problem is, where does it leave Skipp?

With Yves Bissouma, Rodrigo Bentancur and Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg on the books, Kessie would push Skipp further down the pecking order.

And at 22, the young midfielder desperately needs regular football for the sake of his ongoing development.

But if Kessie were to join Antonio Conte’s side in January, it’s very difficult to see where Skipp – who has started only two Premier League games this season – is going to fit in.

There’s no doubt that he’s a huge talent but if the Kessie speculation is accurate, he should certainly consider leaving Tottenham, as difficult a decision as it may be for him.
