Andy Townsend has praised Tottenham Hotspur midfielder Oliver Skipp on Premier League Productions for the goal that he scored against Graham Potter’s Chelsea at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium in the Premier League on Sunday afternoon.
The former Chelsea midfielder was impressed by the way Skipp scored for Tottenham in the London derby.
Spurs broke the deadlock in the Premier League match against Chelsea just a minute into the second half.
Midfielder Skipp scored the goal.
Tottenham right wing-back Emerson Royal tested Chelsea goalkeeper Kepa with a shot.
Kepa could not hold onto it.
The ball went to the edge of the area, and Tottenham midfielder Skipp let it fly.
Kepa tipped the ball onto the crossbar, and it eventually went in.
Andy Townsend on Oliver Skipp goal for Tottenham v Chelsea
Townsend said: “Brilliant, brilliant goal and a really positive start from Spurs.
“It’s a lovely run from Emerson Royal that Kepa deals with.
“That is a great strike, Kepa’s going backwards he gets a hand on it but it’s not enough.”

Encouraging
In our view, Oliver Skipp played well for Tottenham Hotspur against Chelsea.
The 22-year-old was dynamic in the middle of the park and played with a lot of maturity.
The Englishman is not a regular in the Tottenham starting lineup, but he is showing just how good he can be when given a chance.
His goal was brilliant, and it will certainly enhance the confidence of the young midfielder.
Tottenham are aiming to finish in the top four of the Premier League table this season.
Skipp could prove to be a big player for Spurs in the coming weeks and months in that quest.
