Earlier today, it was announced that Mattias Svanberg – a target for Tottenham, West Ham and Everton – had joined VfL Wolfsburg.
What’s the story?
Well, Antonio Conte, David Moyes and Frank Lampard can cross the Sweden international off their shortlist, as he has now sealed a €9m (£8m) move to Germany.
It was said that Tottenham were keen to reunite Svanberg with his international colleague Dejan Kulusevski in north London, while they also expressed an interest back in January as well.
Elsewhere, other sources claimed that West Ham and Everton were monitoring the 23-year-old.
However, the Premier League trio will now have to look elsewhere, as Svanberg has decided to move to the Bundesliga.

Southampton were also said to be keen on signing the Swede, so the news will come as a blow to Ralph Hasenhuttl as well.
Svanberg’s move to Germany comes after he made 37 appearances in all competitions for Bologna last season, scoring three goals while also providing three assists as the Italian side finished 13th in Serie A.
Tottenham, West Ham & Everton have alternatives
Fortunately, it seems the Premier League trio didn’t put all of their eggs into one basket.
In Tottenham’s case, there is interest in West Ham stalwart Tomas Soucek, who Everton are also keeping an eye on.
Spurs have also expressed an interest in signing Atlético Madrid midfielder Rodrigo De Paul, although they may have to work hard to convince him to join.

In regards to West Ham, Moyes has already lodged three bids for Lille star Amadou Onana, with the French side now seriously considering that offer, according to Sky Sports.
Clearly, there are other options to pursue after Svanberg slipped through the net.
Be sure to keep an eye on developments in the Premier League, as the transfer window is certainly hotting up.
