Tottenham Hotspur-linked goalkeeper Emiliano Martinez has hinted at eyeing a move away from Aston Villa, as it seems as if he is ready for his big break at club level.
The ‘best’ £20 million (Sky Sports) shotstopper, whose future was described by Dean Jones told GiveMeSport has been eyed by Antonio Conte’s side as one of many to come in as a potential long-term successor to Hugo Lloris.
Now, it seems as if Emiliano Martinez, who signed a new contract till 2027 in January last year is open to an exit from Aston Villa, with Tottenham lurking in the shadows to make their move.
Tottenham target Emiliano Martinez hints at Aston Villa exit
The ‘amazing’ World Cup winner, who famously fired shots at Kylian Mbappe after his triumph must be in serious consideration as a replacement for Lloris, whose form has been declining for a number of years and is perhaps at its most questionable this season.

But Tottenham target Emiliano Martinez has hinted at a summer exit, as relayed by Fabrizio Romano, saying, “I’d like to win a title with Aston Villa, it’s difficult…we will see what happens. The feeling that today I have the level to play in the Champions League and try to win it.”
Will Tottenham even get Champions League football is the question
One would be lying to their very own eyes by tipping the Lilywhites to get into the top 4, as they remain an unconvincing outfit, which simply cannot be said as much for the likes of Newcastle, Manchester United, Manchester City and Arsenal.
And if Tottenham fail to secure Champions League football, it seems as if Emiliano Martinez would be looking elsewhere to join after leaving Aston Villa.
Before Conte and Co. even line up replacement for their club captain, they might want to get their house in order first.
