Aston Villa ace Emi Martinez has aimed a dig at Aurelien Tchouameni for being in his head during the World Cup final, that led to the £88.1 million star (GOAL) missing his decisive penalty.

GiveMeSport have claimed that Spurs are interested in signing the World Cup winner, who seems to be a magnet for headlines recently.

For those that seem to have forgotten, the Argentina No.1 was seen throwing the ball away before Tchouameni’s spot-kick and being up to his usual mind games during penalty shootouts.

The Aston Villa goalkeeper seemed full of confidence, especially after saving Kingsley Coman’s attempt from 12 yards out.

As Aurelien Tchouameni stepped up to ensure France stay in the game, he ended up completely missing the target, as Martinez was lauded for emerging as the victory in a shootout once again.

After the contest, Chelsea legend John Terry labelled Martinez’s mentality as “incredible” during a panel discussion on beIN SPORTS.

Emi Martinez has now aimed a dig at French midfielder Aurelien Tchouameni during the ongoing celebrations after his penalty miss in the World Cup, pointing out how he managed to get in the Real Madrid prodigy’s head.

“When I save the first penalty in the final, I know that the other boy [Aurelien Tchouameni] was going to be very nervous”, he said, as quoted by GOAL.

Martinez continued, “I tried to play him mentally by throwing the ball away, talking to him…and he missed the goal.”

While one must laud Emi Martinez for knowing the ins and outs of penalty shootouts, it is in poor taste to see him slaughter Aurelien Tchouameni for no rhyme or reason.
