HITC understands that Mikey Moore is about to pen a new contract at Tottenham Hotspur after an impressive pre-season.

During pre-season, Tottenham Hotspur have played some cracking football ahead of the new season under Ange Postecoglou.

Tottenham’s new signing Archie Gray has impressed for the Lilywhites since his £35 million move to the club from Leeds United while Lucas Bergvall has also had moments of promise for the club.

However, where the bulk of the summer excitement has come from for fans of Tottenham is teenage sensation Mikey Moore, who was compared to Lamine Yamal after his goalscoring impact during the 5-1 victory over Hearts.

Mikey Moore closing in on professional contract

We had reported a couple of months ago that Spurs were confident that they would hold onto Moore this summer and the teenager would put pen to paper on a new deal.

Spurs denied claims that Manchester United and rivals Manchester City have put forward offers for the highly-rated 17-year-old midfielder. However, HITC has been told that Real Madrid, PSG and Borussia Dortmund were certainly ‘serious’ about testing his loyalty.

However, this may no longer be an issue with sources telling HITC that Moore’s performances during pre-season has led to Spurs improving their offer to the teenager which he is set to sign this week.

As mentioned, Moore had a host of offers from other clubs to move to but the teenager is understood to have told Tottenham that he always intended on staying put at the club.

Moore’s contract details explained

Sources have told HITC that the new deal for Moore also includes clauses that will see his wages bumped very quickly when he hits certain measures like first-team appearances and goals.

Spurs have always recognised the teenagers’ talents and had no intention of losing him this summer but there was always a concern until he signed a new deal that a move away from the club could be a possibility this summer.

However, that possibility seems to now be dead in the water with Moore set to put pen to paper on a new deal at the club.

The Athletic claims that Moore will be the highest-paid 17-year-old Spurs have ever had and Moore is set to be given ample first-team chances under Postecoglou.

With Moore, Bergvall, Gray and Will Lankshear, Postecoglou certainly has an exciting quartet that he can rely on this season.
