There were no Tottenham Hotspur representatives for England at this summer’s Euros.
Usually, Harry Kane is the man repping Spurs when on international duty, but he left last summer for Bayern Munich.
Then James Maddison was axed from England’s final Euro 2024 squad, with the team suffering the same old feeling on Sunday in Berlin.
England lost to Spain in the final of Euro 2024, and in truth, they can’t have too many complaints because they were abject throughout the tournament and were no better in the showpiece match.
In terms of style of play, team build-up, on-field tactics and bravery on the ball, Spain and England were worlds apart.
You would have expected the English players within Tottenham’s squad to be repping their country and hoping for a win.
From Tottenham’s new signing Archie Gray to the man who was axed. But they also seem to have a fan in Mali midfielder, Yves Bissouma.
Tottenham are back in pre-season, so you would assume Bissouma was watching the England v Spain final from his home in London.
He posted on his Instagram story several snaps of him in an English shirt, including a Three Lions hat and he shared his reaction after the game to the defeat with a small video clip.
Bissouma seemed pretty gutted with the result and stated that he ‘can’t believe it’, as he urged the fans to ‘support’ the England players because of the effort they put in.
Either way, it was a pretty interesting reaction from the player because he genuinely seemed gutted, but you couldn’t tell if he was messing about or not.

“I can’t believe it,” responded Bissouma as he nodded his head in disbelief.
“I am so sad right now. Oh my God. That’s crazy. I think the better team won. Sad. I am sad.
“But I think the guys worked really hard, so we need to support them. They wanted to win as well. It’s life, it’s cruel. Oh, come on boys. It’s hard.”

James Maddison should count himself lucky
The Spurs playmaker would have been gutted that he was left out of the final squad, although, he couldn’t have had too many complaints because he was out of form and there was too much competition ahead of him.
But he should count himself lucky because England produced abject performance after abject performance.
Yes, they got to a final, but just about compared to the Spanish, who stuck their chest out and showed the world what they were all about.
Many are now questioning if Gareth Southgate will remain in charge of England, as you feel it is now best that he does move on, with sources telling HITC that is expected to happen.
