- EXCLUSIVE from Graeme Bailey
HITC understands that Tottenham Hotspur have made a breakthrough in their attempts to sign Bournemouth striker Dominic Solanke this summer.
A new striker has been high on Tottenham Hotspur’s wishlist as the Lilywhites look to replace Harry Kane after the Englishman departed the Premier League club for Bayern Munich.
HITC revealed that Tottenham were in talks with Bournemouth over Solanke and we understand a breakthrough has been made.

Tottenham close to finalising Dominic Solanke deal
Sources have told HITC that Spurs are closing to finalising a deal with Bournemouth for the signing of Solanke.
Solanke is understood to have a £65 million release clause in his contract with Bournemouth but this clause is only available to the Premier League’s traditional big six.
Spurs are understood to have utilised this clause in Solanke’s contract and have spoken to the Englishman about a move to North London.
The two clubs are now in talks with Spurs ready to break their club record to land the England international, the previous club record was Tanguy Ndombele who moved to the Lilywhites from Lyon for £63 million back in the summer of 2019.
Bournemouth sources insist that their terms must be met before a deal for Solanke can be done but there is understood to be confidence from those within Tottenham that they are set to land their top striking target.
Solanke deal not dependent on Richarlison’s sale
HITC has reported that Spurs did not need to sell Richarlison this summer to fund a deal for Solanke despite the Brazilian being linked with a move to the Saudi Pro League.
As for Bournemouth, HITC understands that the Cherries have drawn up contingency plans in case Solanke does depart this summer.
One of these options for Bournemouth is Tammy Abraham, who the club’s director Tiago Pinto is said to be a big fan of.
Andoni Iraola had previously hailed Solanke as one of his most important players but it appears the former Liverpool forward is closing in on a move to Ange Postecoglou’s side.
