Tottenham Hotspur’s stance on selling Richarlison explained, Solanke talks continue

HITC understands that Tottenham Hotspur signing a new forward is not dependent on a key player leaving this summer.

Tottenham Hotspur have been busy in the summer transfer window with the Lilywhites hoping to break back into the UEFA Champions League places under Ange Postecoglou.

Ange Postecoglou’s Spurs have signed Leeds United’s Archie Gray this summer with the Englishman already making an impact for the Lilywhites during pre-season.

As well as this, Lucas Bergvall turned down Barcelona’s advances to move to Spurs and it appears the North London club are now focusing on a striker addition this summer as a replacement for Harry Kane.

Spurs signing Dominic Solanke is not dependent on Richarlison

HITC understands that Tottenham’s search for a new forward is NOT dependent on Richarlison departing the club.

We had reported that Tottenham are in talks with Bournemouth for striker Dominic Solanke with the Englishman the club’s preferred target.

Solanke is understood to have a £65 million release clause in his contract which can only be triggered by the Premier League’s traditional big six.

HITC also understands that Bournemouth have earmarked former Chelsea striker Tammy Abraham as a potential replacement for the English striker.

As for Richarlison, Spurs are open to selling the Brazilian striker and have held talks with the Saudi Pro League – where Al-Hilal held the most serious interest.

Speaking to ESPN Brazil, Richarlison has commented on his future and told the South American outlet: “There has been an offer but my dream of playing for the Brazilian Selecao and in the Premier League speaks louder. The money is big but my dreams are bigger.”

Spurs’ plans following Richarlison’s comments

Whether the Brazilian does depart Spurs before the end of the window is unclear, but the Brazilian’s comments ‘will not impact’ their plans to sign a new striker.

As mentioned, Spurs want Solanke but the North London club are also exploring other forward options in case they can’t sign the Cherries forward.

HITC understands that Spurs are also in talks with Brentford forward Ivan Toney, who has also attracted interest from Atletico Madrid this summer.

Another target remains Feyenoord’s Santiago Gimenez, with HITC previously reporting that Gimenez was previously the club’s top target before the Solanke chase. Talks are understood to have been held with both Gimenez and Toney.
