According to a report by Spanish outlet SPORT, Tottenham Hotspur would need to submit a significant bid to convince Barcelona to sell Franck Kessie in the summer.
The ‘terrific’ £199,000-a-week ace has struggled during his time at the Spotify Camp Nou. However, it was claimed that despite the Ivorian failing to look the part under Xavi so far, Antonio Conte’s side had submitted a £20 million bid to sign him.
Now, it seems Tottenham could convince Barcelona to sell Franck Kessie just a year after they signed him from AC Milan, provided that they make an offer that they cannot refuse.
Tottenham can sign Barcelona midfielder Franck Kessie on one condition
Once compared to Yaya Toure in his prime by Antonio Cassano via Sempre Milan, the 26-year-old has found it a challenge to replicate his performances at AC Milan in Catalonia.
However, SPORT have specified that while Barcelona are not looking to sell Franck Kessie yet, a ‘dizzying’ offer from Tottenham could persuade them to do so.

Furthermore, it has been claimed that Spurs indeed tried to sign him in January. But the Catalan giants believe that the well-rounded midfielder will come good during the second half of the season and have no intention to let him leave just yet.
Tottenham should prioritise a different profile of midfielder
While Barcelona man Franck Kessie can chip in with goals and assists in a more advanced position than the No.6 role where many often box him in, Tottenham are in desperate need of an out-and-out creator.
Barring the ‘golden’ Rodrigo Bentancur, who has been deemed out for the remainder of the season, the club simply lack a single player who can create chances for the forwards from the middle of the park.
Seeing as that is not Kessie, they should move on instead of breaking the bank for a player they do not necessarily need.
