Reported Tottenham Hotspur target Franck Kessie has turned down the chance to join Graham Potter’s Chelsea in the January transfer window, according to 90min.
Tottenham target Franck Kessie rejects Chelsea
The report has claimed that Chelsea are interested in signing Kessie from former La Liga and UEFA Champions League winners Barcelona this month.
The Premier League club have made an enquiry about the 26-year-old midfielder.
The former AC Milan star has rejected Chelsea.
According to the report, Kessie is ‘not interested in a short-term loan deal’ and wants to stay at Barcelona and fight for his place in Xavi’s team.
The Ivory Coast international midfielder moved to Barcelona only in the summer of 2022 on a free transfer after leaving AC Milan at the end of last season.

Blow for Spurs as well
Franck Kessie’s stance of making it a success at Barcelona will come as a blow for Tottenham Hotspur as well.
Like their London and Premier League rivals Chelsea, Tottenham are also reported to be interested in the 26-year-old.
Earlier this week, TuttoMercatoWeb reported that Tottenham have been in contact in regard to a January move for Kessie, described as “terrific” by former Chelsea star Craig Burley on ESPN.
Now, if Kessie does not fancy a move to Chelsea and wants to stay at Barcelona, then it is unlikely that he will want to join Spurs either.
