FairSquare are a nonprofit research organisation that have taken issue with Infantino’s relationship with Donald Trump.
They made their first complaint to the FIFA Ethics Committee about Infantino’s alleged failure to remain politically neutral.
FairSquare provided four examples, including Infantino awarding FIFA’s inaugural Peace Prize to the United States President.
They have since applied more pressure to the FIFA Ethics Committee following the Folarin Balogun saga at the World Cup.
Balogun’s one-game ban was suspended after Trump called Infantino, though FIFA insist it had no impact on their decision.
FairSquare made their second complaint to the International Olympic Committee, of which Infantino is a member.
They allege that the FIFA President has violated the IOC’s rules on political neutrality with his public support for Trump.
The IOC have reportedly told Front Office Sports that the complaint falls outside its jurisdiction following thorough analysis.
Only time will tell whether Infantino will be cleared of any wrongdoing or proven guilt of taking sides with Trump.
