Victor Wembanyama left fans floored once again with his annual soccer highlights.

Wembanyama went viral last offseason for showing his deft soccer touch while playing with Chinese monks. There’s also a clip of the 7’5″ center attempting an overhead bicycle kick in a pick-up game.

The 23-year-old French superstar is repeating that in the 2026 offseason, once again going viral for playing soccer in a local game, highlighting his incredible control of the ball at his size.

Victor Wembanyama looks like a giant while playing soccer

A viral video showing Wembanyama’s highlights from playing soccer in a local park captured the imagination of fans, as the French center tries to deftly dribble past players half his size trying.

If Wembanyama focused on playing soccer instead of basketball, at his size and agility, he’d 99% be forced to play as a goalkeeper. On the off-chance he could play as a high-level striker or defender, he’d likely struggle to control the ball with his frame against top-tier opponents.

Wembanyama is already labelled an alien for his never-before-seen skillset, so it shouldn’t surprise anyone that he has far better control of a soccer ball at his size than most average enthusiasts of the sport do.

Victor Wembanyama is coming back for a revenge NBA season

Wembanyama fell short in the 2026 NBA Finals, as the New York Knicks comprehensively outplayed them to deny Wembanyama his first NBA Championship in just his third NBA season.

The nature of San Antonio’s end-game collapses led to a lot of frustration against Wembanyama and the team, but the center likely will address those queries this offseason with his workout routines.

Wembanyama will look to add more core strength while improving his stamina to not only last through a long season into mid-June but to also ensure he can play 30 to 35 minutes of high-level basketball without needing to be subbed off or be passive on the court.

He averaged 25.0 points, 11.5 rebounds, and 3.1 blocks last season as an MVP Finalist and the first-ever unanimous Defensive Player of the Year in NBA history. Now, he has to take the next step to become a truly generational force.
