Liverpool youngster, Ben Doak was seen training with the Liverpool first-team ahead of their upcoming clash against Newcastle United on Saturday.

Recently, journalist Ian Doyle had said that the 17-year-old was set to return last weekend from the injury he had suffered, which meant that he was unavailable for his boyhood club’s last 4 games. The talented winger has been heralded by many major figures in the game already such as Jurgen Klopp and Pep Ljinders, with the latter rating how ‘technical’ and rapid he is.

Now, it seems like Ben Doak, once likened to Manchester United legend, Wayne Rooney by agent Jackie McNamara has returned from injury for Liverpool ahead of their contest against Newcastle.

Ben Doak is back in Liverpool training ahead of Newcastle showdown

While it remains unlikely that the starlet will start for the Reds, his presence on the bench could be extremely useful, if Klopp chooses to thrown him onto proceedings as a wildcard substitution.

Liverpool fans will be delighted to come across footage via Football Daily from Liverpool training ahead of their encounter against Newcastle, with Ben Doak spotted alongside the likes of Virgil van Dijk, Diogo Jota and Darwin Nunez to name a few.

Liverpool could really do with the youngster’s directness off the bench

As previously mentioned, Doak could now be available on the bench for Liverpool, after his return to training against Newcastle.

Quite often, the club’s fanbase have expressed their grievances about lacking quality options that can change the game as substitutes.

However, the Scot’s excellent 1v1 ability coupled with his searing pace late on against the Magpies could hurt them, especially if he is tried out as a right winger against the in-form, yet slow Dan Burn.

The hope remains for Liverpool fans that they are comfortable enough against Newcastle for Ben Doak to come on into the game and be able to freely express himself, after a positive few days in training.
