Ryan Reynolds and his wife Blake Lively have reportedly bought a £1.5m house less than five miles away from Wrexham’s home stadium.

Wrexham are just one win away from promotion back to the Football League after 15 consecutives seasons away from the fourth tier of English Football.

The North Wales club take on Boreham Wood this weekend, knowing that all three points will guarantee automatic promotion.

Since Ryan Reynolds and Rob McElhenney took over the club in 2021 it has been on an upwards trajectory. The Hollywood A-listers have fully immersed themselves in the local culture and customs and embraced Wrexham’s community.

Rob and Ryan regularly attend Wrexham’s home games, and now it seems Ryan wishes to be closer to the action on a more permanent basis.

According to reports, the Deadpool star and his wife Blake Lively have bought a £1.5 million house less than five miles from Wrexham’s Racecourse Ground.

The home is reportedly located in the nearby picturesque village of Marford. The small village of around 2,500 people has two pubs – the Red Lion and the Trevor Arms – and one local convenience store.

Reynolds currently lives in a reported £4.3million home in New York with his wife Blake Lively and their four children. However, the family are strongly considering making the move to Wales full time.

He has been staying in a local hotel after games

It comes after the news that Reynolds and McElhenney have been staying at the luxurious four-star Carden Park estate in nearby Cheshire after games.

The hotel is located just ten miles away from where Wrexham play their home games. The Sweden women’s team stayed there during last year’s Euro 2021 tournament to take advantage of the full-size football pitch available.

Wrexham have also used the facilities, which include two championship golf courses and a £10 million spa – complete with sauna, swimming pool and hot tubs.

Ryan and Rob have also been regulars at local Wrexham pub ‘The Turf’.

Rob and his It’s Always Sunny castmates were in the pub after the Yeovil Town win recently where they helped pour fans pints.
