An ex Premier League player recently sent a message to Ryan Reynolds telling him he’ll play for Wrexham next season for free.

Wrexham beat Yeovil Town 3-0 on Tuesday night to move them three points away from promotion back to the Football League.

The Red Dragons take on Boreham Wood this weekend knowing that a win will guarantee they’ll be playing in the fourth tier of English football next season.

It’s been quite the journey for the Welsh club in recent years after Hollywood stars Ryan Reynolds and Rob McElhenney became co-owners.

Wrexham caught the attention of the football world after signing former Manchester United and England goalkeeper Ben Foster.

Foster saved a crucial penalty against Notts County recently to ensure a 3-2 win and a vital three points over their bitter rivals.

Those heroics may have caught the eye of one of Foster’s former teammates, as ex Premier League player Hal Robson-Kanu has offered his services to Wrexham next season.

In a response to a post on Ryan Reynolds’ Instagram, the former Welsh international offered to come out of retirement to play for the Reds next season.

He also said he’d give his salary away to charity.

He wrote: “@vancityreynolds I’ll come out of retirement and come and play for @wrexham_afc next season. I’ll also give my salary to charity of the fans choosing…” complete with a phone emoji.

He retired in 2021 having played 46 times for Wales

33-year-old Robson-Kanu last played in 2021 following a spell with West Bromwich Albion. He has also played for Reading, Southend United and Swindon, and was capped 46 times for Wales.

Since retiring, Robson-Kanu has reportedly been operating a Turmeric-based nutrition brand which he founded in 2018, alongside working as a pundit for Sky Sports.

The Deadpool star is yet to respond to the offer, but it would represent another major coup for the club should they acquire Robson-Kanu’s services.
