Rob McElhenney was joined by his It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia cast at a Wrexham game recently. The cast appeared to enjoy themselves and poured drinks for fans afterwards.

Wrexham are officially just one win away from being promoted to the Football League after a 3-0 win at home to Yeovil Town.

The victory means that a win on Saturday against Boreham Wood will see Wrexham promoted from the National League to League Two after 15 consecutive seasons.

Rob McElhenney and It’s Always Sunny cast celebrate recent win

Rob McElhenney‘s ‘It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia’ co-stars joined the Wrexham co-owner at The Racehorse Ground to watch the 3-0 win over Yeovil.

Rob’s wife and co-star Kaitlin Olson was there, as was Glenn Howerton and Charlie Day, who play Dennis and Charlie on It’s Always Sunny.

Sadly, Wrexham co-owner Ryan Reynolds wasn’t in attendance.

The Hollywood A-listers appeared to enjoy the game, which came to life in the second half.

Goals from Anthony Forde, James Jones and top scorer Paul Mullin ensured all three points for Wrexham as they edged closer to promotion.

It’s Always Sunny cast help pour pints after the game

The cast were clearly enjoying the hospitality in North Wales. After the game ended, Charlie Day joined some of the Wrexham players on the pitch for a cooldown.

Footage of him having a race with some of the players went viral:

Furthermore, the cast reportedly decided to join in with punters afterwards to serve them pints.

Fans flocked to The Turf Hotel nearby where they were served drinks by the celebs. “I wasn’t aware of it, they turned up with a camera crew and all the rest of it and jumped behind the bar and helped to give a few shots of whisky away to fans,” hotel owner Wayne Jones told the BBC.

“Managed to grab a couple of seconds with them to say hi, to introduce myself to [Rob’s] wife and Charlie and Glenn.”

“They were lovely, really down to earth, just like Rob is and genuine supporters,” Mr Jones added.

After Boreham Wood on Saturday, Wrexham have one more game left of the season against Torquay United on 29 April.
