West Ham are now interested in signing Leeds target Raphael Guerreiro from Borussia Dortmund in 2023, a player who Cristiano Ronaldo is a big fan of.
That is according to Jeunes Footeux in France, who believe David Moyes wants to sign the Portugal international in January to boost his left-back department, as he aims to turn West Ham’s season around.
West Ham want Leeds target
Well, if West Ham are to sign Guerreiro, they must fend off Leeds.
According to TEAMtalk, Victor Orta – Director of Football at Elland Road – is already preparing a contract offer for the Borussia Dortmund No.13 as he aims to bring him to Yorkshire.
Jeunes Footeux believe Guerreiro also has the choice of a new contract at Borussia Dortmund, although he is currently leaving his options open after six years in Germany.
The Portuguese defender joined Borussia Dortmund in a €12m (£10m) deal from Lorient back in 2016.

Interestingly, the 28-year-old’s contract expires at the end of the season, and he is free to sign a pre-contract agreement with another side in January.
So far this season, Guerreiro has scored three goals in 18 appearances, while also providing three assists.
West Ham or Leeds could secure a bargain
In truth, we’re surprised more clubs aren’t interested in signing Guerreiro given his contract situation.
The left-back is a fantastic player who is also capable of playing on the left of the attack, while he also carries the approval of Ronaldo, which – as proven by his scathing interview with Piers Morgan – is not easy to achieve.
Back in 2016, the six-time Ballon d’Or winner was asked who he would sign for Real Madrid.
As quoted by Bleacher Report, Ronaldo answered: “Perhaps my team-mate in Portugal, Raphael Guerreiro.”
Clearly, the Borussia Dortmund star carries plenty of pedigree, so be sure to keep an eye on his situation to see where he ends up.
