Leeds United want Raphael Guerreiro and scouted the Borussia Dortmund ace in action against Borussia Monchengladbach on Friday.
The Whites have used Pascal Struijk as a left back this season but he is a centre back by trade.
Junior Firpo arrived from Barcelona in 2021 but is yet to really show that he can be Leeds’ long-term left back.
Victor Orta and co may now look for a new left back in 2023 and Guerreiro is emerging as a very real option for Leeds.

Leeds United want Raphael Guerreiro
Dean Jones told Give Me Sport back in August that Leeds were showing an interest in luring Guerreiro away from Dortmund.
No deal was done before the summer deadline but the rumours haven’t exactly stopped there.
TEAMtalk are claiming that Leeds want to sign Guerreiro and are already preparing a contract offer for him.
Guerreiro is out of contract at the end of the season and is able to sign a pre-contract agreement come January 1st.
Leeds are positioning themselves for a cheap deal, whether it’s a pre-contract deal or cut-price January move.
90Min now claim that Leeds sent a scout to watch Guerreiro in action for Dortmund against Borussia Monchengladbach on Friday.
Guerriero played the full 90 minutes at left back but this wasn’t a great evening for him or Dortmund.
Gladbach ran riot in a 4-2 victory and Guerreiro also picked up a yellow card in a difficult performance.
Once hailed by Jude Bellingham for making the game look easy thanks to his passing and dribbling, Guerreiro seems to be edging towards leaving Dortmund.
Ruhr 24 claim that Dortmund have concerns about Guerreiro’s injury record and his defensive ability so may simply let him leave.
Friday wasn’t ideal but Leeds surely won’t have been put off as they look to bring the Portugal international to Elland Road.
