According to the Express, Brentford now want Arsenal target Omar Marmoush after missing out on Tottenham target Keane Lewis-Potter.

What’s the story?

Well, the Bees have been trying to secure a £20m deal for Lewis-Potter after his impressive displays for Hull, which have also caught the eye of Tottenham.

However, Thomas Frank has found that particular pursuit quite difficult, so he is now turning his attention to Marmoush, who Arsenal are also said to be fans of.

Ryan Taylor of the Express believes the 23-year-old is also wanted by a number of Bundesliga clubs as well as Brentford, so they may face further difficulty when trying to sign the Egypt international.

Marmoush put his name in the spotlight last season while on loan at VfB Stuttgart, scoring three goals while also providing five assists in 23 Bundesliga appearances.

If Brentford submit an offer, it will certainly be interesting to see if that sparks Arsenal into action.

Brentford could upset Tottenham as well as Arsenal

In our view, Brentford are doing some very good business this summer, and they seem to have shortlisted some wise options as well.

They have already upset Arsenal by beating them to the signing of Aaron Hickey, who was also wanted by West Ham.

Now, they could upset the Gunners again by signing Marmoush – as well as Tottenham, who are also interested in signing the VfL Wolfsburg forward.

It comes after they also made a firm move to re-sign Christian Eriksen, although the Dane has chosen to join Manchester United according to many sources.

Is isn’t often that a side heading into their second-ever Premier League campaign rustle the top six’s feathers this much, but the Bees are clearly operating with lots of ambition in this transfer window.

Be sure to keep an eye on Marmoush’s situation, as anything could happen this summer.
