Bundesliga starlet Omar Marmoush is dreaming of a move to the Premier League with Arsenal and Tottenham Hotspur going head-to-head for the Wolfsburg forward, as reported by BILD

If scouts operating on behalf of the London rivals were keeping an eye on the 23-year-old Egypt international from the Mercedes Benz Arena stands, they’d have been drooling at the mouth as Marmoush turned a 2-1 deficit into a 3-2 win almost all on his own.

Not content with dragging relegation-threatened Stuttgart level in the 79th minute – thumping a gorgeous free-kick into the top corner – the on-loan attacker then set up Tiago Tomas’ winner mere moments later.

It was arguably the best performance of Marmoush’s career. And certainly his best since joining Stuttgart on loan from fellow strugglers Wolfburg in August 2021.

Where Marmoush will be plying his trade next season, however, is anyone’s guess. Wolfsburg will have been impressed by the way the 2022 African Cup of Nations finalist has acquitted himself in the Bundesliga.

But Marmoush ‘dreams’ of following in Mo Salah’s footsteps. And, with Arsenal and Spurs expressing their interest, his dream could soon become a reality.

BILD adds that Marmoush recently joined forces with Jonathan Barnett’s Stellar Sports agency, a group which represents a whole host of Premier League stars, including North London duo Kieran Tierney and Ben Davies.

Following in Mo Salah’s footsteps?

“Omar is a fantastic fit for us,” says Stuttgart’s former Arsenal director Sven Mislintat. “His qualities and versatility make him a great addition to our squad.”

Unsurprisingly, Cairo-born Marmoush is a huge Salah fan. He impressed alongside the Liverpool superstar as Egypt reached the final of 2022’s AFCON tournament, and was congratulated by Salah after making his Bundesliga debut at Wolfsburg.

Marmoush, a centre-forward who can also play on the right, on the left and as a number ten, would add some much-needed depth to the respective forward lines of Mikel Arteta and Antonio Conte.

And, at 23, he fits Arsenal’s policy of signing young, hungry players with their best years ahead of them.
