Liverpool star Mohamed Salah would be a ‘useless’ signing for Juventus unless the Serie A giants strengthen their midfield first, former Serie A midfielder Stefano Impallomeni tells Tuttomercatoweb.
The former Roma man may have a point, too.
According to Corriere dello Sport, Juve boss Massimiliano Allegri would love nothing more than to join forces with Salah at the Allianz Stadium, identifying the 2020 Premier League champion as the ideal successor for Paulo Dybala in Turin.
Signing Salah, however, would be like buying a brand new Ferrari before you’ve even passed your driving test.
It is no secret that Juventus’ midfield needs some work, with Adrien Rabiot, Weston McKennie and co a far cry from the Andrea Pirlos and Arturo Vidals of yesteryear.
Will Mo Salah leave Liverpool for Juventus?
“Salah? If Juve don’t revolutionise the midfield, it’s useless,” explains Impallomeni.
“They closed with Dybala and now we will see what they do. I believe they will make a powerful move in the transfer window. Juve is not a club who move in cycles. It is a club that has to make the right moves.
“Salah is very strong. But, without changing the midfield, we are back to square one. Juve must strengthen themselves in the middle and sign international players.”
Salah’s Liverpool contract expires in 2023.
Try as they might, the Reds have failed to reach an agreement over an extension with Fabrizio Romano painting a rather worrying picture when discussing the Egyptian’s future at Anfield.
Liverpool, he says, are reluctant to break their wage structure, even for a player who’s scored a staggering 153 goals in less than 250 games since arriving from Roma.

Though, if Liverpool are unwilling to meet Salah’s demands as things stand, the same cannot be said of a Juventus side who have made high-profile free-signings something of a personal trademark in recent years (Gazzetta dello Sport).
“He’s a player everyone would like,” admits former Juventus manager Luigi Maifredi (TMW).
“But I don’t think someone who plays in the Premier League wants to move to a league that hasn’t won the Champions League for a long time. I think he will do everything to stay in England and won’t come to Juve.”
