According to Fabrizio Romano, David Raum is now close to signing for RB Leipzig after holding talks with West Ham.
What’s the story?
Well, it was said that the Hammers held talks with the Germany international over a move to the London Stadium.
West Ham were told to pay £33m for Raum, who shone for TSG Hoffenheim last season in what was a remarkable campaign from left-back, mainly from an attacking perspective.
The 24-year-old scored three goals, while also providing an impressive 13 assists, in 32 Bundesliga appearances last term, which now looks set to take him to the Champions League.
Romano believes RB Leipzig – who finished fourth in the Bundesliga last season – are in advanced talks to sign Raum, with negotiations now at the final stages.
That will not be music to the ears of David Moyes, who is surely starting to get a bit frustrated after also missing out on Jesse Lingard to Nottingham Forest.
Raum will now undergo a medical with RB Leipzig, before putting pen to paper on his contract.
The news will also come as a blow to Newcastle, as the German was a target for Eddie Howe as well.
West Ham should pursue ideal David Raum alternative

In our view, West Ham should react to the news about Raum by making a move for Filip Kostic.
The Serbia international enjoyed a tremendous 2021/22 campaign playing as a left wing-back for Eintracht Frankfurt, winning the Europa League as he scored seven goals while also providing 15 assists.
Interesting, the east Londoners have actually been linked with a move for the 29-year-old.

Moyes will face competition from Tottenham, who are also admirers of Kostic, but if the Irons move quickly, we believe a deal is possible.
Be sure to keep an eye on West Ham, as we expect them to be busy going into the final month of the window.
