The Los Angeles Lakers have been busy making moves this offseason following LeBron James’ exit.

For the last eight seasons, LeBron James had been the face of the Los Angeles Lakers. However, this offseason, the two sides decided to part ways.

Since then, the Lakers front office has been very busy as they have made several additions to build a competitive roster around Luka Doncic.

Among the signings is veteran guard Collin Sexton, who has agreed to a two-year, $19 million deal with the Purple and Gold.

Collin Sexton believes LeBron James doesn’t want to play with him

In the 2026-27 NBA season, Sexton will share the court with the dynamic duo of Doncic and Austin Reaves. What he won’t do is play with James, who remains one of the best players in the league.

This isn’t the first time that Sexton has missed out on sharing the locker room with the 41-year-old NBA superstar.

“He’s just leaving every time I arrive… one of the other coaches made the same joke yesterday,” Sexton said in recent interview.

Sexton is referring to the last time when LBJ was a free agent, i.e., 2018. James left the Cleveland Cavaliers to sign with the Lakers.

So, how does Sexton come into the equation? Well, that was the same year the Cavs drafted Sexton using the eighth overall pick in the NBA Draft.

Now, eight years later, history has repeated itself as James is currently hunting for a new team while Sexton has already committed to the Lakers.
